RARE! xxxx Antique Isaiah H Arey American NH 4/4 Violin & Bow Perfect Original.
After some searching on the internet I was able to find mentions of the Luthier, Isaiah H. Arey of Boscawen, New Hampshire. I did find a couple of Violins that had won awards for excellence in construction. I also found a Guitar and a Banjo.
Until just recently, the Arey Violin in this auction was hidden away, waiting to be discovered. On the inside is the original paper label, which dates this violin from xxxx. The maker?s initials are also at the top of the book-matched maple back. It is going to be easy to describe the condition of this 4/4 violin. It is in perfect, original condition with no repairs and it retains its original finish. This high quality American Violin measures 25 ½? long with a 10 ½? long fingerboard. The bottom bout is 8 ¼? wide and the top bout is 6 5/8? wide. The back, sides and neck are constructed from figured maple and the ebony tuning keys are original. As you look at all the close-up photographs, you will see this mid-19th century Violin is in ready to play condition. The neck is straight and there are no hairlines to the tight grained spruce front.
I realize buying a Musical Instrument, like this mid-19th century Violin, without holding it in your hands, is very difficult and I am not a musical instrument dealer, nor do I play.
Included is the original Bow. It measures 28 7/8? long and has an Ivory nut at the end. I guarantee that this bow is also perfect. The mid-19th century case is the original case and retains its milk painted surface.
