Type of Service: Full-time (Active Duty)
Type of Position: Officer in the Navy Medical Service Corps (graduate degree required)
About this Job: Step into a mental health environment defined by state-of-the-art facilities, progressive thinking and application of the latest techniques. The dedicated group of approximately 130 Navy Clinical Psychologists care for Active Duty and retired servicemembers and their families in a wide variety of settings. In this role:
Care for patients in military hospitals and clinics in the U.S. or overseas
Offer inpatient care, outpatient care and substance abuse programs
Work aboard aircraft carriers or assisting Special Warfare/Special Operations units (such as the Navy SEALs)
Serve on the faculty at the Naval Academy or with White House personnel
Supervise training at one of the Navy's American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited internship programs

For practicing professionals: Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program or the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS)
