My Uncle worked for NASA and the Department of the Navy. During the Apollo 11 Flight to the moon, he was responsible for the and downloading of all images being sent back to earth from Apollo 11. He asked for and received permission to print a few photographs for my personal enjoyment. No one knows what my Uncle?s duties were in his 36 years in the Department of the Navy. All we know is that he always had a suitecase packed and ready to leave. The phone would ring and a staff car would pull up in front of house. My Aunt never knew when he would return homed or where he was going. If their was a family emergency, she would call a number she was given and military personnel would arrive to be of assistance to her. My wife and I were both working in Washington D.C. when my Uncle passed away. His body was returned to Washington D.C. to be buried on a hill in Arlington National Cemetery. His grave overlooked the Pentagon. Arlington National Cemetery has several Chaplains. But the head Chaplain from the Naval Academy was flown in by helicopter from Annapolis, Maryland, for his burial services. As my Uncle was lowered into his grave, a Navy helicopter hovers over his grave. The door is opened and the helicopter turns and 360 degree turn. The door was closed, as the helicopter flew off into the horizon over the Pentagon.
