The obverse of the medal features a portrait of Harry S. Truman with the inscription "PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES" centered along the top border of the medal and "HARRY S. TRUMAN" centered on the right side of the medal. The reverse of the medal features a view of the south portico of the White House, after reconstruction, showing the balcony and the Presidential Seal centered at the top of the medal. The inscription "INAUGURATED" followed by the dates "APRIL 12, xxxx" and "JANUARY 20, xxxx."
